The largest CHP in Estonia was opened near Tallinn

The combined heat and power plant (CHP) opened on Wednesday 2017.09.27 will cover about 20% of Tallinn's heat demand and will be able to supply electricity to about 50,000 households.
The plant built in Väo is fired with biomass, i.e. renewable fuel, and its construction cost amounted to EUR 65 million. The eat capacity of the CHP plant is 76.5 MW, and electricity capacity 21.4 MW, according to rus.err.ee.
Estonian Prime Minister Jüri Ratas, Acting Mayor of Tallinn Taavi Aas and Head of Utilitas Priit Koit were present at the opening of the CHP plant. The plant was built by Lithuanian company Axis Technologies and was  funded from own  resources of Utilitas and loans from Swedish banks Swedbank and SEB, and the technologies  were supplied by German company MAN and Finnish company Renewa.
