Lviv citizens are introducing technologies for heating cities without gas

To heat large cities without the use of foreign gas - the experience in modernizing energy facilities in the Baltic countries and Belarus will help to achieve this goal. 

In particular, Lithuanian municipal CHPs are actively switching to alternative types. Already today, the Lithuanians receive 60 percent of heat using biofuel.
 
“Lithuania is resource-poor country. Its resources are biofuel, wood chips, branches, water and sun. Ukraine could also follow the example of Lithuania, taking the path of gas refusal”, - said Thomas Rakauskas, executive director of TEC consulting. “Ukraine has its own resources to do this: biofuel, sunflower seeds, and even more - not only woodchips, but hay, peat, coal.”
 
Lviv company Ecopower introduces European technologies in Ukraine. Employees of the company have experience in modernizing energy facilities of the Baltic countries and Belarus.
 
“My program allows increasing the efficiency of the energy systems of Ukraine. In order for Ukraine to become the energy independent country”, - said Victor Pilat, head of Ecopower. - This problem needs to be solved comprehensively. It is necessary to do the following: heat insulation of buildings, meters installation, installation of individual heating units, as well as to switch to local fuels and increase the efficiency of objects that are already working.”
 
The first projects of Lviv citizens on the modernization of heat networks of several Ukrainian cities will start this year. The next step is conversion to alternate fuels. As Victor Pilat explains, modernization of energy systems of Ukraine can be significantly accelerated. “We need to improve outdated legislation to achieve this goal,” - says Lviv energy specialist.
