Kaunas mini-CHP

The start-up and commissioning works at the mini-CHP of UAB "SSPC- TAIKA" in the city of Kaunas are in active phase.

On 12 June 2016, the steam blowing of the CHP main steam line was completed. And on 13 June 2016, at 00:21, the CHP started to supply the heat through the hot water to Petrašiūnai neighborhood in Kaunas. For the first time, simultaneously with washing of the turbine condenser with the steam from the boiler, the commercial supply of heat to the DH networks of AB "Kauno Energija" took place.

Since 17 June 2016, the CHP has been operating in a closed water/steam cycle and generating the heat through the hot water according to a dispatch curve of the DH networks.

As of 23 June 2016, the mini-CHP reached a nominal heat load of 25 MW.
